Start from the centre of the traditional settlement, through the picturesque alleys, opposite the big red rock. At a distance of about 5 km, after 40 - 45 minutes of easy hiking with a maximum altitude of 251 m, you will find yourself at the white-white chapel of Profitis Ilias. The view of Leonidio is incredible. The blue of the sea, the view to Plaka, the port of the traditional settlement, and to the big rock will fill your soul with tranquility, but you will also feel the need to explore the area even more. The circular route takes about 1.5 hours.
Directions
We start from Fabrica in the centre of Leonidio.
Cross the bridge on the opposite side.
We turn right from the café on the road to the fire station.
We pass between beautiful traditional houses.
And turn left at the signpost uphill.
There you will see the information for our hike
Going up the road we see colorful and fragrant courtyards.
Once the road ends, the dirt portion of the trail begins.
At first the trail is wide and we draw the first pine trees.
Then the trail becomes narrower and the route is zigzag type.
In 40-45 minutes we are at the chapel of Prophet Elias and we will see a panoramic view of Leonidi on the left and a view from the plain to the sea on the right.
