Leonidion - Poulithra, 10 minutes by car
If you are at Leonidion and you drive south, after Plaka, you will come across Poulithra, a village with mansions made of stone that bathes in the clear blue waters of the Myrtoon Pelagos. Poulithra is the ideal place for quiet vacation and if you love fishing, you will find a lot of fish there. The coexistence of sea and mountain will surprise you, as well as the hospitality of the locals.
At Poulithra you will find taverns, small coffee shops and you will accommodate yourself in beautiful apartments.
The site Vigla, above the sea, hosts the remains and the strong wall of the ancient town of Polichni. On the road from Plaka to Poulithra on the hill of Agios Athanasios, are the remains of ancient Prasies, the most important town of South Kynouria in ancient times.
Poulithra - Peleta (Kounoupochoria), 20 minutes by car
Leaving the sea behind, and following the road uphill that goes through Poulithra, you will arrive through Tsoumos at Peleta. The road is difficult, but you will be rewarded by the wilderness of the nature and the impeccable view of the sea. Peleta, Amygdalia, Pigadi, Chouni and Kounoupia are some of the villages that are scattered around the plateau. Do not forget to taste the amazing local red wine (kokkineli).
Leaving Peleta, after passing the villages Amygdalia and Pigadi, you will enjoy the view of Fokianos Beach, a region of incredible beauty. Peleta is the biggest village in the area, full of traditional stone houses and rich architectural culture.
Peleta - Mari, 30 minutes by car
After the village of Kounoupia, the road leads to Mari, a village full of waters. From there, you can go to Laconia.
