Kosmas' Folklore Museum

The folklore museum started its operation in 2001, following an initiative of the Kosmas Cultural and Ecological Movement, and the noble contribution of the inhabitants and the Greeks of Greece, who also made available the rich folklore material.

It is housed in the primary school of the village, near the main road Kosmas - Leonidio.
In the folklore museum one can come in contact with a large collection of the earlier era such as: objects of house organization, tools and machinery of the village's professional technicians, agricultural tools, ecclesiastical items, household items, local woodwork, ceramics, weaving and embroidery art, useful items and finally local costumes,

In the area dominates the Corner of Georgatzades, a faithful representation of the way in which the unique creators of scallops (Georgatzades) worked, but also the exhibition with the tools used by the latter.
A rich photographic material of locals and expatriates reveals to the visitor aspects of their life both in Greece and abroad.

Tables, photographs and documents of the most important historical events of local history capture in the most faithful way the events in the historical course, from the ancient settlement Selinousa to the thriving Kosmas Community of modern times.

In the same area, the Lending Community Library, which, since 1954, has a large number of books, scientific, literary and historical content, encyclopedias and magazines. Readings for small and large book-lovers, as well as many rare books of particular interest.
